Throughout history, the Tiger Eye has been used as protection while traveling. It’s often used to ward off dark magic and Roman soldiers wore them during battle. The undulating light makes it useful for divination and other types of vision work. As a steady, balanced and powerful stone, it can be used to enhance integrity, willpower and the responsible use of power.

Tiger eye is often used to relieve stress that’s associated with health issues as it is believed to slow the flow of energy through your body. This is the stone you want to work with for gaining insight, clarifying one’s circumstances and softening a stubborn stance. The red variety is quite useful in flushing out excessive energy and slowing down the third chakra.

Another closely related version of this version of chatoyant quartz is Chrysoberyl or Cat’s Eye. It’s quite a bit more expensive. Use these stones when you’re ready to make changes in your life.
