Reasons to Start Using Positive Affirmations

Perhaps you’ve heard of the idea of using positive affirmations in life. Perhaps you’ve left at the idea of using positive affirmations. What exactly is an affirmation handle why and what you want to use them?

The Oxford dictionary defines affirmation as, “the action or process of affirming something or being affirmed (he nodded in affirmation), and or, emotional support or encouragement, for example, “I am filled with confidence, I know I can handle anything.” At times, we might put it more simply or bluntly: “I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.”

So, generally speaking, we can use affirmations to reprogram our sub-conscious mind. Affirmations can be used to motivate ourselves and believe in ourselves. Affirmations are our way of justifying our existence in the universe.

Affirmations can also be used to change our reality. We can use affirmations to bring as the things we desire such as love, luxury and happiness. This happens because we influence our sub-conscious mind and things will happen almost magically. It isn’t magical. It simply another way of focusing and defining our goals.

Affirmations are declarations of our intentions. They help to facilitate our goals and our vision for a better life.

Anything you would like to change in your life can be influenced by affirmations. Then you can use them to change and make a positive impact on yourself and those people in your life you care about.

When Would You Use Affirmations?

Use affirmations when you would like to:

  • Raise your confidence before a presentation.
  • Improve your self-esteem.
  • Improve your productivity.
  • Break a bad habit.
  • Take control of negative feelings such as anger, impatience, or frustration.
  • Finish projects.

Discover What Matters Most to You

This will help you keep your focus and keep your productivity and activities contributing to this goal in the right direction. If you’re having trouble with this, think of it in the opposite way – what scares you the most when you think of losing it or never attaining it? Sometimes clarity is revealed with a sense of loss more than with a sense of attainment or achievement.

Write it Down

Writing down your goals is an important step to realization

Using positive affirmations is especially effective when used as a complement to other reinforcement strategies. Writing down your goals and dreams is an important step in creating a new reality for yourself. Researchers tell us that we learn with all of our senses. Writing down a goal begins to give it a physical presence in this world.

Write down what would like to focus on. Keep this in line with your belief system. It’s your belief system that inspires you to move forward.

Write Down Your Goals in the Present Tense

Your declaration should be written as if it had already happened or as if it’s currently happening. Remind yourself with an affirmation that what you’re trying to achieve is happening.

Be Clear About What You Want to Attain

Make sure your statement is visible and has credibility.: Focus on practical outcomes. If you’d like a million dollars, can you get there from here? If you don’t think so, you’ll have to break down the goal down into smaller, more attainable achievements with each success moving you closer to your ultimate goal.

Notice Any Negative Self-Talk

Also note any feelings or perceptions that annoy you. Your challenge is to think of this scenario that had a negative outcome. Now, think about how you could have changed this and transformed it into a winning situation for everyone. By helping others, you gain not only self respect but the respect of other people as well.

Say it With Feeling

Affirmations that have some emotional weight behind them are more successful. You want to make sure that the affirmation is in line with you and your belief system. Saying something such as, “I am ready to face the business presentation I am ready to give this business presentation because I have prepared to the best of my ability.

Practice Affirmations with Others

Merrill Research reported that, “a sign of happiness is when the lips rise symmetrically. In an authentic smile the eyelids drop, and eyebrows lower. By giving someone a compliment, it naturally strokes our endorphins.” So what will happen is that what you’re practicing these affirmations and you’re giving each other compliments, mirroring the each other’s behavior reinforces that it ourselves.

Remembering What is Important

Life seems to run more smoothly when we feel comfortable and carry a good attitude inside. “Law of attraction” proponents sometimes point to this as an improvement of our vibration to make us magnetically attracted to good things when our vibrations are positive — such as financial prosperity, intimacy, and renovated wellbeing.

As author Dale Carnegie once said, “It isn’t what you have or who you are or where you are what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.’

Keeping a positive mindset and learning how to find positive opportunities wherever you go is the basis for getting more out of life and appreciating each moment we’re alive.
